Jesus - The Great Reward

Here is another excerpt from my newest book, "Treasure in the Meadow," out later this year.
Excerpt from Chapter 7:
There are layers of the Meadow that require greater sacrifice on our part. The higher up the mountain a person goes, the greater the personal cost to get there. Likewise, the deeper I want to go into these realms, the higher the price to pay. The price, besides my time and full attention, is always my whole heart.
There is an ongoing untethering from the world that must happen inside of us to be able to stand firmly, appreciating Him as our great reward. The untethering is not because we are dirty, rotten sinners who are not allowed to see Him, but because we literally cannot see all that He has for us to see and discover when we are still looking through lenses that are smudged by the cares and desires of the world. Sometimes, we are not even aware of the smudges on our lenses, so a time of consecration is what is needed to allow us to see clearly again.
We have to pull ourselves out of anything that would hinder us from the depths of discovery. Matthew is clear that where our treasure is, there also is our heart (6:21). If our treasure is still something earth-bound, then our heart is not whole when we present it to Him in the Meadow. We cannot give the best of ourselves to the One who deserves our all if we are tethered to things that do not herald holiness.
There is a purging of heart and a consecration that must take place in order for us to go as deep as we would like. The cost could possibly bring with it a sense of shaking, but the shaking always allows the dismantling needed to become released enough to give our whole selves to Him.
And then, once we have allowed the shaking, we get to experience His glory.
For thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘Once more, in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all the nations; and they will come with the desirable and precious things of all nations, and I will fill this house with glory and splendor,’ says the Lord of hosts.
