With a bachelor's in creative writing and a certificate as a copy editor, I am passionate about assisting self-publishing authors birth the writings and books that God put in them.

As someone who has been on the self-publishing journey for myself, I understand how overwhelming and daunting publishing can be, especially without guidance. I also head up the creative writer's group at my Church, where we have nearly 30 creative writers who I have been able to mentor, teach and equip in the areas of writing, finding their core message and self-publishing. It is my absolute delight to come alongside them on the journey.

What is a "copy editor?"

 

A copy editor is NOT a developmental editor. A copy editor looks at your manuscript (the "copy") and does the following:

​

• fixes spelling mistakes

• checks punctuation (like commas and full stops)

• makes sure sentences make sense

• helps the writing sound clear and smooth

• double checks facts, references, etc.

​

They don’t change your ideas—they just help your words shine so other people can understand and enjoy them easily.
